Hello, I am not sure how the recommenders phase of this works.

I have 2 teachers that have written recommendations. I have 3 applications out so far, and their recommendations are assigned to them, but only one is assigned to the rest of the colleges I plan to apply to on CommonApp.

Do I need to assign recommenders before I get my application in? Or does that part potentially come after, like transcript/scores? How do I put the other teacher on the list?

You do need to assign recommenders before submitting your app to a school. Transcripts and official test scores can be submitted/sent at any time before or after other parts of your app is complete. Go to your dashboard in your common app account to assign recommenders to each school. Once there, if you want to make changes or additions use the link in the upper right to manage recommenders on a school by school basis.

Hello!
I applied to Harvard college through early action and now want to apply to other colleges through regular. My teachers say that they mentioned Harvard college in their recommendations and Harvard received those recommendations. Now if they upload the newly edited recommendations, will the colleges receive the edited ones? or should I make an alternative commonapp and assign recommenders again?
Would be glad to receive any help!

You should definitely not create a new account for yourself. Common app may freeze or delete one or both accounts if they figure out you’ve done that. But, you can create a new recommender to invite. Just use a slightly different name (Bill instead of William, for example) and a different email address and then invite the same recommenders again.

The commonapp help center says that after the online form is submitted no changes can be made. So i am worried that colleges will receive the name of a different college. The commonapp says that the college should be contacted directly. This is my teachers’ fault and will this affect my application?
