<p>I'm sorry if this question has already been answered, but I can't find it. So I applied to St. Olaf and assigned a recommender and my professor just completed and submitted her letter. I decided to also apply to Notre Dame and I'm wondering if I assign the same professor if it will just use the same letter or if she will have to write a new one. Also, does the commonapp notify her if it is using the same letter, that I am using her letter twice? Should I email her and ask her first? Is it rude to ask for another letter when she just finished, or is it rude to not ask and use her letter twice?

<p>You just assign that same recommender through common app and the exact same rec letter can then be downloaded by all the schools where you assign the rec. The person who gave you the recommendation does not receive any communication from common app when you assign the rec to schools.</p>
