I am a little confused about the common app recommendation process for transfers. Some colleges ask for an “academic evaluation” and some ask for a “instructor recommendation.” I assume these are the same thing, but on the common app under “Recommenders and FERPA” there are two different options to invite recommenders. One for “all colleges” and one that is school specific. Is first option for any recommendations by someone who is not an academic evaluator while the second option is where I assign professors?
For one of the schools I am applying to, I have to use the letter of recommendation my high school college advisor wrote last year. I contacted my high school and they still have it. Should they send it to the school separately or would I somehow link that to my common application?
I asked two of my professors from last semester if they would be willing to write recommendations for my transfer application, and they both said yes. They each asked me to provide them with something that outlines what they need to write, but I am not sure where to find this. Will the common app send them what they need to know when I assign them to colleges on my application?
I know this is long, I just want to be sure I do it right. Thanks!
