Associate's Degree @ UCSD

Hi,

So i was recently told i can get 3 associates degree(Physics,Math & Chem) from my community college before i transfered to UCSD because i qualified. My question is are there ANY downsides at all to accept these associate degrees?

I've HEARD that associates degree INCREASES your tuition because you already have a degree vs. people that are trying to achieve their 1st bachelor's. Can anyone vertify this?

As far as i know from the counselor an associate's degree is beneficial except that it will decrease your priority during the transfer application process (which does not apply to be since i already got accepted)

No.

I have five associates degrees (yes, five) and go to UCSD. You’ll pay the same tuition rate. If you have a bachelors degree, you’re disqualified from getting another at UCSD (or any UC, I believe.)

UCI does allow for students to get a 2nd Bachelors, although they are not given priority.

so no downside at all? well that is a relief i’ll file for those associate’s degree then =P!

@LAforlife: Good to know!

@darklitdusk: No, no downside. There’s no record of my Associate degrees on my transcript anywhere, just my classes.
