This is an odd situation so Im not sure if anyone would be able to help me with it. Over the summer i was in contact with a college coach and they showed interest but wanted a video. I said I would get one but all of my footage was blurry/from a distance/bad so i didnt send anything. My dialouge with the coach quickly ended and I kind of feel that coach thinks I was wasting his time or was trying to find an 'in' into the college (which isnt true). I ended up applying to this university anyway and I was wondering if the whole mess up could affect my admission.

Unless Admissions goes to the coach to specifically ask him about you, I can't see how it would enter in to their considerations. Coaches contact admissions offices to let them know of applicants the coach would like to see be admitted (this carries more or less weight depending on the school), but I can't imagine a scenario where admissions would go to the coach to ask about a certain student. I mean, unless there's someone on the admissions committee who has a particular interest in your sport is reading your application and sees it prominently featured on your ECs, thinking you had no contact with the coach but may be useful for the team, and they call the coach and say, "Hey, I've got this applicant here...." And then the coach has some particular grudge against you (which is unlikely) ---

But that all seems like an odd series of events, and not a likely one. So I'd say, probably not, but if it did there's not much you can do about it.

Or you could email the coach, re-introduce yourself, apologize for not getting him that video (I bet countless students don't come through with a video for the same reasons you didn't), and say you are applying to the school. Tell him you're not asking for or expecting support from him for your application, but you just wanted to let him know and thank him for taking the time to meet you earlier in the year.

He may think you're fishing for support in spite of what you write, but at least he would have a heads-up that your application will be at admissions.

It's a judgment call... do what you think best, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. I doubt it will be an issue.
