When I first attended college, like most, I was lost. I did poorly (not showing up) and was slightly depressed. As a result, I have a horrid transcript from that college (W/WU's/F's) for two semesters. I transferred to a local community college where I finished an associates with a GPA of 3.366 (80.5 credits, unrelated major).

Prior to applying to Stony Brook, I am planning to take all required math courses/ intro computer science courses/ and several SBC (general ed) courses that will transfer over. I am (ambitiously) planning on getting an A in all my classes, which will bring my GPA only up to 3.5x.

Since as a transfer student I must submit all records of college transcripts, is there anything else I can do to offset the transcript from my first school, and make my application more competitive?
