Just got the packet today…accepted for the spring semester and admitted into the Washington Mentorship Program! I’m still trying to figure out exactly what WMP is but it seems great! I’m just confused because it says they were not able to offer me a space for the fall semester of 2013, yet I will still live on campus and take AU classes.

If anyone has any information about WMP that’d be super helpful!

I wasn’t able to find the enrollment agreement under personal links then academics, but put enrollment in the search box and got an option for “enrollment for grad school of comm” (even though applying for undergrad) and the undergrad letter was there! Now that I’ve clicked on it when I search again there is an tab for enrollment agreement too

I got admitted into WMP too. It doesn’t make any sense to me. It does sound cool, but I don’t really see the point if we would still be living on campus and taking classes. It just sounds like a normal semester plus an internship. I’m confused on why it isn’t considered a “real” semester. Does anyone know anything?

@adviceIneed-- no not at all. I am having the same problem. I was skyping with a close friend last night who said last year she couldn’t log in early to see either and she ended up getting in with a full ride haha.

Sethwalker…That’s much more reassuring than the previous post about the women from the AU Admissions saying it doesn’t mean anything haha. There’s concrete proof instead of a women who is just being told not to give anyone decisions before the letters come…

I just got rejected by BU…my top school, today so hopefully this one goes better…

OK, very confused. & I hope someone can help.

So S13 received his congrats letter. The “Conditions & Additional Instructions” form says session: Fall 2013 session, so I take that to mean he was admitted for this Fall. Right?

In his personalized Congrats Letter (So cool it is personalized!) it also says: “In recognition of your outstanding academic achievement, we are also pleased to offer an invitation to join the University College program.” Well, I looked it up on the AU website & it says ALL 1st year students are eligible so why all the “talk”? [Is University College for me? | American University Washington, DC](http://www.american.edu/provost/universitycollege/Is-UC-for-me.cfm)

Next, unless I am blind (& it is possible!) I can’t find the breakout of the true cost for 2013-2014. I looked through the packet & the website. Any guidance would be very appreciated.

@Kat2013 you are not alone. I have experienced and read about lots of information/website glitches in the past few months since my D was accepted. I hope this is not par for the course at AU. Of course these things happen on a Saturday when you can’t call but when you do, they are pretty good at clearing things up. I just hope they improve the information flow soon.

@Kat2013 I also got the invitation to join the University College program and the Freshman Day. I think when they said all first years are eligible, they mean only first years and not others and that not every first year gets in

I read somewhere that “University College” is the main program of AU and that the other program is the “Honors College”. I was offered admission to the Honors College (along with the public health cohort), but it didn’t say anything about the University College so I’m not really in a position to help much, but I do think that the University program is the non-honors part of American. I could easily be mistaken though, so don’t take my word for it!

That’s not correct. University College is an optional program, and one can be a freshman and be in neither University College nor Honors. In fact, as stated on the website: “All admitted American University freshmen are eligible to join the University College. However, space is limited to approximately 400 students, or 25 percent of the incoming freshman class. If you decide to reserve a place, please complete the following steps by May 3, 2013…” Given those numbers, it appears at least half of the freshman class will be in neither UC nor Honors. Lots more info on the website.

@LitWit: The user name= initials of first and last name, last 4 digits of student ID, and the letter a. We were able to access D’s enrollment docs and financial package without problems. We are in Texas.

I was invited to apply to the University College program, which I’m really happy about, but I was wondering what it took to get into the honors program. Can someone who got in post their stats please?

EmmaWillard, a student cannot be in both Honors and University College. University College is basically for those students who did not get chosen to be in the Honors program.
