Got accepted!!! Alright :)))
I found a big and flat package in my mailbox that contained a neat booklet with an acceptance letter and financial aid. The acceptance letter was really sweet because they show that they have read through your app carefully. It makes you feel like an individual hehe
Woohoo!

In the past, the WMP students were housed on Tenley campus (albeit in nice dorms), but another post stated that this campus is being converted to the law school and WMP will likely be housed in the main campus dorms. Can anyone confirm?

@eniloracw - I also received the Champions of Excellence, for Mock Trial. Do you have any idea what is expected of students that receive this scholarship? For example, does this mean that I will be a part of a mock trial team at AU? Or is this scholarship just recognizing me for being successful in my high school’s mock trial team? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I haven’t really been able to find any info about it on AU’s website.

D got the spring acceptance/Washington Mentors Program. Also accepted at GWU. Northeastern as well with good merit $. Given $0 merit at AU and the perceptual downsides of spring admit/WMP, I don’t think she’ll be considering it especially when it’s competing with GWU and NEU. Anyone else in a similar situation?

I also got into the University College…but I’m not sure what it is…anybody want to explain it to me?
Also, SO SO SO EXCITED ABOUT BEING ACCEPTED (Confidence was completely shot after being rejected to Northeastern).

In the past week I’ve seen this page jump 15,000 views. Interesting.

Congratulations to all newly accepted students! If you haven’t already, I’d go and search for the AU Class of 2017 Facebook group/page. Hope everyone makes the decision to come to AU – it is truly a great university.

Congrats Salyourpal13! Just goes to show that scores aren’t everything. If you don’t mind sharing, what’s your GPA? Do you have a ton of EC’s and leadership roles?

I just got all my admissions info in the mail today. Almost definitely attending! I was accepted into the Global Scholars & Honors Program, even though I didn’t think I would. I’m so excited :D

Waiting to hear back from Georgetown and NYU

I’m honestly just a little confused why I got wait listed. I can probably honestly say, I didn’t spend as much time on my, “Why AU?” but I thought it was still pretty good. Also on the letter I got today, the link they told me to go to, sends me to a concert website to buy tickets in North Carolina. Sort of lightened the mood.

^wow, I’m honestly pretty shocked you didn’t get in, too.

I’m only a 3.5uw student (I went through some stuff my sophomore year and it messed up my grades quite a bit), but I have a 2250 SAT and quite a few APs, plus mock trial, a job, and a hobby of making films. Got in and am pretty sure I’ll be attending in the fall :)

@Polymather: If you look a few pages back, you’ll see that several others with 2100+ SATs, high GPAs, etc. were also waitlisted. My guess is that the Why AU essay was particularly scrutinized this year, and they waitlisted anyone they perceived as using AU as a “safety” school. The people I’ve noticed getting in are the ones who really seem to be excited and passionate about the school, which I think is something in my application that was probably lacking (I was waitlisted as well with above average GPA & test scores).
