I wondered the same thing about major. My son’s app was submitted September 25th for EA deadline of October 15. He has not heard on his portal yet. He is not a stem major but prelaw. Do they release all the EA at the same time or is it rolling? I am nervous for him because he did not submit a test score but has very high GPA.
I wonder if the deferred applicants will be reviewed the same way next round - just scores & gpa?

We haven’t gotten our decision but based on the replies here, I’m going to assume that we should start rethinking strategies, too. For those who are adding to your lists, which schools are you considering now that you hadn’t before?
Did your student apply early action? If so, what major?
What is the intended major?
Yes. EA on 10/12. He selected business/pre-business on the app.
So here is another consideration someone had mentioned to me prior to applying.
Schools also look at your SAT score in relation to what you plan to major in. For example, my sons SAT score was very high on English (well above their 75th%,) but not as high on the math (closer to the average). His intended major is political science or pre-law, so that works to his favor. Much like a student wanting to study a STEM field needing a higher Math SAT….
Just some food for thought for those of you in the deferral process. Although that isn’t me at the moment, I know it could be with my next child so I certainly have empathy for your frustration!
Merit for first round of acceptances may be out. My DS got an email on his Auburn account about an hour ago and his scholarship was seen on the portal. Good luck to all awaiting info!
Yes merit is out. Just got that too.
Is merit out just for those who were accepted in the first round of EA? DS was accepted second round (just notified on Friday) but there is no merit info.
We applied 10/9, accepted in November round (this past Friday,) and just got Merit today.
sbgal2011 - we’ve not got it yet for my DD. Same as yours. wil post if anything changes. Thanks
Do you see where it needs to be “accepted”? Looking through Ausom/finances but not seeing any link where the scholarship is under Award History.
We got our merit as well and DD was just accepted on Friday. I thought it was setup for the Auburn emails to go to her regular email but that didn’t happen. For those of you checking for it…We logged into AU Access and found it under the awards tab/awards history at the top. Then we checked her Auburn email and it was in there as well.
Thanks for the heads up so we could check on it!
thanks galaura, my DD checked and confirmed that it is present in AU access.

Thank you, we logged into AU access and found his merit award there!
NoVaMom73, I’m seeing you in all my forums! Looks like we’re in the same scores/GPA/Extra Curricular boat. My DD did get into WVU and VCU if an acceptance would make yours feel better. <3 We will survive this! <3
christilyn, Maybe our kids will end up at the same school! We were contemplating WVU and VCU right before she got accepted to Alabama. It definitely is nice to have one although it isn’t her top choice. Hoping to hear from Indiana and Tennessee in the next month or so. Can’t wait to be on the other side of this!
Are the merit offers received strong? Does anyone know if the additional department, alumni etc. merit that can be applied for is strong and recurring?
