Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

I wouldn’t read too much into anything. I interpreted War Eagle Day as a marketing ploy to make kids feel wanted. Your son will have great opportunities

Agreed. S24 is a national merit semi-finalist with a 1540 SAT and 4.0 unweighted GPA. We did not get invited. We are also OS so not sure if that makes any difference - we are in the NE and therefore may be less likely to attend.

Anyone know anyone who has gotten into Auburn that’s not a super genius ?? Like I don’t know, maybe 3.65 Gpa with a bit of a rigorous schedule ?

A little over 10% were admitted and enrolled with a GPA in that range for the 2022 admission cycle.

Hello
OOS
S24 invited to WED
ACT 30 Composite (36 on reading) Taking it again in October
GPA UW 3.56 (Will go up some with straight A’s in all classes this semester and all new classes still to take second semester with block schedule)
4 on all AP exams
All honor’s, Dual Enrollment, AP classes and CLEP classes
Varsity athlete and state champion (only state champion in school history)
The kid was so excited getting the WED invitation. He said his heart hurt and he had to sit down. Auburn is his number one choice and I want him to be accepted. He has a big heart and is friends with everyone. I am hoping Auburn reciprocates the love and accepts him.

We are going to War Eagle Day on Oct 27. Flying in Oct 26.
We really have to do a deep dive into AU.
Other acceptances came in last week. A BIG future decision coming up.

Any ideas when we will start to see decisions roll out? Does anyone know when they came out last year?

I heard last year was on 10/14 around 5 pm ET. It feels like a loooooong wait

My daughter applied a week or so ago and she did not realize there was pre-PT vs Pre-Med major at time of submission. She just updated her major in the applicant system. Do you think this will cause an issue? Based on what I’m seeing, I think Auburn is a long shot for her since she applied TO, so may be a non-issue.

TOP Performers regardless of In State or OOS by Sat Oct 14th. I was told by our Auburn Recruiter. However, she did say it could be as early as “TODAY” forward.

If she applied a week ago then she will be in the next EA round (the first round deadline was 9/15).

Historically, the first round of early action notifications come out mid October (it was Oct 14 last year…at the very end of day!). I have never heard any “top candidates” hearing before everyone else, so I would suspect one big round of emails will go out middle to late next week.

Good luck to everyone…and War Eagle!

I could be completely wrong, but I dont think TO makes it a long shot. From reading last years acceptance stats many got in TO. My daughter is also TO so I will be interested to see as well. But my daughter is also a 4.0 uw / 4.2 w

Unfortunately, Auburn isn’t truly TO, and I do think applicants are at a slight disadvantage applying without test scores. Since they had such a large increase in applicants over the past few years, they have started to only consider test scores and GPA for admissions, so without test scores, I think it makes it even harder to evaluate.

Not entirely sure how to interpret this information, but Auburn says last year the acceptance rate for early action periods was 44% for a total of 20,000 acceptances, with less than 9% admitted under the university’s test-optional pathway.
Not sure if that means 9% of TO applicants were accepted, or if 9% of the 44% accepted were TO, but either way, it’s not ideal. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a long shot for anyone, but something to consider when deciding on submitting scores or not.

My daughter has friends who got in with some pretty “average” ACT scores…

Correct @Hlauburn Our AU recruiter told us straight up “SUBMIT TEST SCORES”. She went on to say TO is a “touchy-feely” attitude and is designed to be more inclusive. Additionally, she told us AU will NOT be TO come next year for Fall 2025 applicants,
