Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

Our Daughters have very similar resumes. Only extra we have is 2 varsity sports and a company dancer. Interested to see if we get similar results

None of which matters at Auburn. GPA, SAT/ACT (optional). They look at nothing other than that. With those numbers though that should be an easy acceptance to predict.

I’m MA as well and S23 was accepted with very similar numbers (slightly lower UW, slightly higher W). He ended up elsewhere but we visited Auburn and seemed like a great place.

It would require submitting the test but there is a matrix of potential merit

Thanks and understood that it is formulaic. I hope my daughter and all on this thread make the cut! Cheers

S24 applied 9/13 and received a War Eagle Day invitation in the mail today. Unfortunately the dates are not good for his cross country race schedule.

Does that mean he has been accepted?

An Auburn recruiter told me that admissions start going out “later in the week of October 9-13” (so I’m thinking October 12th).

He has not received an acceptance but we thought it might be an encouraging sign. We hope to hear officially in mid-October

Sounds like a very encouraging sign! See below from Auburn - how they describe what it is:

“What are War Eagle Days?

War Eagle Days are invitation-only campus visitation days for outstanding prospective Auburn students and their families. They differ from traditional campus visits in that they include an opportunity to meet with academic, student and staff representatives, as well as attend information sessions focusing on the admissions process.”

Good luck but sounds really promising for you all! Cheers

We received the same War Eagle invite both in 2021 and this year, but we visited based on our schedule being in Fort Lauderdale. We had no problem 2 years ago setting up private nursing and engineering tours.

No invite for us yet. But hoping we will receive one. I kept having D24 check her email because I assumed they came via email. Now I know to be looking in the mail instead.

Wonder if anyone has gotten in that did NOT receive the war eagle invite? Hmmm…

Or the reverse - is there anyone who got the invite but did not get in?

My older son received his acceptance on Oct 12 2021 and applied on Sept 7th, 2021. If that is any gauge for this year. His stats were 1330 SAT, GPA 4.6 weighted, AP’s, etc.

My younger son applied on Sept 11th and is waiting, major Mech. Engineering.
His stats are 1550 SAT Super Score with 790 Math, 5.54 GPA weighted, ALL Math and Science AP’s 4/5’s.

My “belief” is (though admittedly I do not really know), that lots of students are offered admission without being invited to attend this event - but as their description indicates, that very promising (leading) applicants are indeed invited in order to “show them some extra Auburn love) and help make them feel a connection to the university…that will likely also be offering these prospects some merit money for their outstanding records of achievement.

Again, some real speculating on my part BUT I cannot find anything that suggests that ALL to be admitted students are invited…

I suppose we will know soon though!

Cheers

Hope that is true b/c we did not get the invite :frowning: Interestingly, for a couple of schools on his list, he was invited to apply for the honors colleges based on test scores and grades, and I saw on the threads for those particular schools there were several people invited to apply for honors college who ended up not being accepted to the school. So trying to remind myself that some of these invites mean nothing…hopefully
