I am a current sophomore biology major at SUNY Stony Brook, and have just applied to several schools for transfer. I was accepted to Auburn but am not sure what to do. I know SBU has a great biology reputation, but am incredibly miserable at this school. I’m worried that I am doing myself a disservice by transferring out of SBU to Auburn. Does anybody have any recommendations for me? I also plan on attending grad school after I complete my undergrad.

Thanks

It depends on why you are miserable and what your goals are. If SBU is not a personality/social fit, what is different about Auburn that appealed to you? Auburn is an incredibly warm, friendly campus, and there are some very bright students there, especially in the sciences. Which other schools did you apply to? What do they have in common? Do they have graduate programs in your field?
There are many schools that will give you a good education, so there is no reason to be miserable at a particular school. Give us more info so we can offer better advice.
