^ really? I’m worried about getting in. I heard that other schools have a really high student acceptance to UNC, so what do they do that students in other schools don’t? SAT scores aren’t the end all b-all, but I really really want to go to UNC, and I just don’t know what the magical switch is. Is the essay? or what? I’m not a good writer but I’m sure that through my writing in this message, I could be defined as average. You’re inputs will be really helpful. Thanks. :)

“I heard that other schools have a really high student acceptance to UNC, so what do they do that students in other schools don’t?”

Ah, the Mecklenberg and Wake County schools. Both districts have excellent schools, and excellent students, but competition is fierce because there are SO many qualified students. UNC has to ensure that it accepts students from all counties (or close to it) so that UNC will continue to represent all of NC. So two students with the same stats applying from Wake and, say, Boondocks, UNC would probably take the Boondocks kid over the Wake kid, all things equal.

I have around 1800 (below it but approximate), and I’m an ASIAN?!!!?!?! D:
But i’m also in the poverty type area. What say you? Is there a slight chance? (maybe the OP will feel better if the responses turn out well for me; if not then errr).
