I was wondering, does anyone know what the average GPA for people admitted to Yale is (undergraduate)?

i don't think they release stats like that im guessing a 3.7ish or higher

i think it would probably be more around a 3.8 or higher, considering dartmouth's is around there and yale's is most likely higher.

Is that weighted or unweighted?

i think it varies from one school to another

in my school an A starts from 94, there is grade deflation and only IB classes are weighted (a mere .5)

this is a lot more stringent than most schools. I don't think they would treat a GPA from my school the same as GPA from a school where A is 90+, and IB are weighed 1 and honors .5

I think they put you in perspective with the school....the class rank and competitiveness.

This is just what I THINK, and what I think is fair; however, I have no idea how colleges offically see/compare GPAs.

If you go to princetonreview.com, you can find average GPA, SAT and ACT

I would of thought it would be like 4.2-4.5

Unweighted. At my school, it's impossible to get a 4.5.

yeah 3.8/4, so maybe out of 4.5 it would be around...4.3? i have no idea how weighting works, my school doesnt do it. i knmow that colleges generally unweight gpas before looking at them.
