What is the average GPA of a UCSD student? (if possible please list GPA figures calculated from 3+ years of UCSD study)

[Student Research and Information](<a href=“Undergraduate Statistics”>Undergraduate Statistics)

Thanks for that link man.

How can we now go about finding out the average GPA by major? (or if that’s not available, perhaps by broader academic discipline, e.g. Social Sciences; Engineering, etc.?)

Not available, as far as I know.

I like how 20% of biology majors have over a 3.5

Interesting stuff. Now does anybody have the statistics on the percentage of UCSD students who apply to medical school and get in on their first try?

edit: U.S. med schools only

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-san-diego/881219-just-accepted-pre-med.html

See post #5. According to this, 43% of UCSD students get accepted. The link that the poster provided is brokeen, so theres no way I can see if the stats are true.

@navyFIELD

Thanks for that. It seems like the percentage would be higher. It is lower than the national average…

“The national percentage of applicants accepted to medical school in 2008 was 45.6%” according to [JHU Pre-Professional Advising](<a href=“Pre-Professional Advising | Student Affairs”>Pre-Professional Advising | Student Affairs)

Well that is for getting into A medical school.

Meaning if a student applied to 40 schools and got into Joe-shmoe Medical school of the West… then they count in that 43% haha.

^yep.
10 char

The is no Joe-shmoe Medical school of the West in the continental US.

hahahahahhahaahahahhaah. laughed
