Award Letter from Financial Aid Office

Has anyone received their official award letter from the financial aid office yet? This is the official letter with grants, loans, scholarships, EFC, etc... on it. We are awaiting this letter to come so we can make a final decision on my daughters college decision (she is trying to decide between four universities and this is needed before we can make a good decision).

Still waiting. Hope it is soon…

Waiting here as well, but waiting for several other schools, too.

I was told they will start Mailing on 3/18 but so far we haven’t got it Either. The online Link will go Live end of the March. We got from 3 other school though.

Still waiting as well. It’s the last one we need. Hope its soon. Want this decision to be made already:-)

Well lets hope it comes on Monday, After coming Friday we will have a clear Pic where son might end up.
At the moment MU is in top spot with UA.

We are still waiting also. I don’t expect it to be any different from the information we got a couple of months ago, but it would be nice to be official. I’m hoping my son makes his final decision by early April. If he gets invited to honors, I suspect he will wind up at Miami.

FA pkg will clearly spell out the need based portion which we are not sure of yet. The Merit part will be same as was told earlier. I think that need based aid is the difference between the EFC and the Full Tuition cost. Not sure if that Gap is filled with Merit $$ or not, I think it do…then need based aid become zero…

Seriously No one get their FA pkg Yet, We still waiting too…

Still waiting; I need this one and then from one other college and then we can make a good decision.

they all get mailed last Friday, so we should be start getting them now.

@dadfor2014 - based on our FA packages for other schools, merit fills the need based gap. So if tuition, etc is 28,000 and EFC is 22,000 and you get 6,000 in merit, then there would be zero need. As I understand it, that also impacts subsidized loans. We got $280 in subsidized loans from one school - the difference between EFC and cost-merit.

@finngal I 100% agree what you Said, I think thats how it works. so the most we will get as need based aid will be un-subsidized and PLUS Loans since our Merit $$ are higher then our EFC but slightly lower then Full Tuition.

I still not get the FA pkg yet. does any one get it or not…??

It’s hard to believe they were mailed 3/21 and no one has received yet…

I just got my packet today!

Received one today. Extremely disappointed. 28 ACT, 3.98 GPA, 3 AP classes. Early Admit. Dean’s admit. Only received minimum in $2000 to $6000 range for 27 or 28 ACT and at least 3.7 GPA. Pretty much seals the deal with another school which was already ahead in the running.

@parent92, sorry it wasn’t better news. Where do you live? Nothing here in Maryland.

Deleted.

Ohio

@parent92 Is that need based or Merit$.
