Awards?

<p>I'm not sure if these would count as awards/honors or if they would just sound silly. Please help me decide which of these to include on the Common App. </p>

<p>-National Honor Society 10,11,12 (School)
-Spanish Honor Society 11 (School) I barely did anything for this.
-Academic Boosters Recognition 10,11,12 (School) For people with a GPA of 3.8 or above.
-Recognition in a Dance Competition 9 (State/Regional)
-"Certificate of Appreciation" by the Embassy 9 (State/Regional) For a dance performance.</p>

<p>These are all fine to include in your app. You might not want to use all 5 of your available slots for these, though. </p>

<p>Our D listed all her Honor societies in one entry: Honor Societies In the description she listed each with its years (NHS: 10-12, Spanish: 11-12, etc.)</p>

<p>Your dance recognitions could (and should) be listed in Activities where you discuss your dancing, since these are not quite consistent with the Education > Honors category.</p>

<p>These are the only honors I have gotten, so should I not put down all of them on my app?</p>

<p>Yes those do count. There are no specific guidelines for awards, so you should defiantly put what you have achieved!</p>

<p>Yes, list them all. As I said, they are all fine to include in your app. But, be aware that there is no need to fill all 5 boxes in Honors nor all 10 in Activities. That number of slots is available as a maximum, not a requirement.</p>
