the awards section of the common app scares me a bit....because i dont think i have any, lol, and i've seen people here post there stats and have numerous awards like nmsf or mu alpha theta stuff, etc....

i got the rensellaer medal award last year....does that count for something? lol
how about high honor roll?

I would count both of those. The high honor roll might not be as snazzy as some of the awards here, but it shows your solid dedication to academics...can't go wrong with that.

Then again, I'm also an 09er and fairly clueless about this stuff, anyway. Second opinion. :) Good luck!

Hahaha, maybe I'm being really optimistic here, but I would also count the nominations to go to conferences/events/schools as awards also. Less so than honor roll, though. If you have any "normal" awards, list those first, but you can always fill it out with nominations and school honor type things. Does that make sense?

yeah it does...but does anyone have a definite answer? does it look bad if i list what are seemingly menial things, or does it look even worse if i list nothing at all, lol

On the common app, how should I report my AP scholar award? I have written it down in the awards part of the Academics section of the application, listed that I received it 12th grade, but then I dont know what to put down under type of award (school, district/regional, national, international). Help!
