excuse me? they are definitely attainable, and there is no need to be rude, we are the ones answering your question. No I did not recieve those awards, but I am international and did recieve awards of the same caliber in my country.

Listen to Columbia2002. He or she speaks the truth. Do what you can with the cards that your community and school deal you. That's enough.

what other science/math related (other than the ones listed) awards could you guys recommend trying for? i think i qualified for AIME but.. thats about it and im planning on applying SEAS :/. seems a little.. below average IMO

^I had no such awards, am at seas, I did a lot of work, started a program at a non-profit, led a club or two, but never reached national or state level at anything. The best I had going for me was winning a couple of categories in a city-wide (v. big city) speech and debate competition.

^^^ Yeah, I love how everyone always passes over Columbia2002's comments in these forums. He generally speaks the truth.

Btw, I got accepted to Columbia -- no national awards to speak of. Not even any provincial ones.

Huh? I have no doubt that people pay particular attention to what I say.

Sorry, I was just trying to make myself feel more important than you.
