Transfer application deadlines are either passed or soon approaching for many schools (for the Fall 2014 semester). I've been too upset and disappointed with myself to even bother applying but July 1st is the deadline for a handful of schools I'd like to attend.

University of Arizona and University of South Carolina are the two schools which seem most realistic for me and offer the specialized undergrad program I would like to pursue (geophysics).

These schools have a minimum transfer GPA of 2.0 and 2.2, respectively. I have 35 credit hours and my GPA is 2.87, however, my transcript looks much worse because I've failed the same composition course three times (on paper I have one F, and two AW's) throughout the past two years. I've made serious repeated mistakes, and trust me I've beat myself to hell over them, but the purpose of this thread is not to discuss why things happened the way they did.

Everything else is good otherwise. High marks in calculus I and II, organic chem, physics, etc...

I scored an 1850 on my SAT in high school which I am required to send. If I were to retake the SAT now I am confident I would score above a 2200, however I'm not sure what the significance of that would be and there are no testing dates available between now and when I need to submit my scores.

I've already completed a few online applications but I have yet to finalize them because they cost $50 and I have no idea what my chances are.

I haven't accomplished anything worthy of putting on an application. Some minor volunteering and personal academic projects, but no awards or things of that sort.

I'm sure many of you will advice to postpone my transfer and retake the course but that isn't much of an option for me. I've exceeded the number of times I can retake the course, and I've finally found what I want to devote my life to.

What are my chances? Thanks guys
