For all of you that took the AWPE a while ago, the scores are finally up on your portal! :P Go to the student center, then click test scores, and then click show all. Apparently 8 and up is passing. I thankfully passed XD

Good luck~

English is by far my worst subject lets see what I got…

Oh my god… I got exactly 8, thank god

^omg me too! So much fail in english, that’s why i avoided AP Eng XD

lol, i somehow got a 9 Dang only 1 point away from a 10. I think if I got a 10 I could take a higher up class. Oh well XD

don’t you not want to take the “higher” class because it’s harder and also just a GE class?

If you score a 9, you need to take two writing courses. If you score a 10, you are done after your core class. Depends on which you prefer

What happen if you score below 8. How many classes do we need

It’s complicated. You would still need to fulfill the Entry Level Writing Requirement (ELWR) and possibly the C1 that those who scored 8 and above need to take. If you scored a 10, you don’t have to take the C1, which means you probably fulfilled that requirement but you still have to take the C2. Here’s the web site for more information: [UC Santa Cruz - Writing - General Education Requirements in Writing at UCSC - Pathways to Satisfying the Entry Level Writing Requirement (ELWR)](http://writing.ucsc.edu/writing_requirements/elwr_pathways.php)

Not sure, but other UC campuses have different ways to fulfill the ELWR and their core writing courses.

@lanceluo0927 Most likely you’ll take the “lower level” core class that’ll take up two quarters (i think) and you’ll have to take the ELWR again for sure.

whats that suppose mean?! so you take two classes and take the test again?! so you have to pass the thing to graduate.

I have to ask one of my friends that had to do that about it but if i’m right, he had to take the lower level core in fall quarter and there’s a follow up core (like part 2 of that class) in winter. As for taking the ELWR, you take it sometime during or after the core class.

Yeah you have to pass that in order to graduate. GL

When I took the ELWR, I got an 8 the first time and I’m not that great with essays. I think it helps to use up all the pages they offer you.

You have to satisfy the ELWR within the first four quarters.
