B.A or B.S for graduate school?

I’m an incoming junior transfer to UCSB to the Statistics - Data Science major. Originally I got in as a B.A student but after talking to my major advisor, he advised me to switch to B.S unless I choose to double major.
I applied as a B.A in the first place because my community college counselor kept reiterating that there is no difference between the two aside from a few extra classes. As I plan to go to graduate school, will it make a difference if I go for B.S or B.A with a double major?

Also, what are some common double majors with Statistics?

Thanks!
