Babson vs. ND Mendoza vs. CMU Tepper

I’d like to concentrate in Business Analytics + Marketing.

I do like Babson’s smaller environment/location but am afraid to attend because I feel like my concentrations would be neglected due to their huge focus on entrepreneurship.

If anyone could help me decide, that would be great!

Thanks in advance

All things considered, apart from financial issues, how many kids would pick Babson or even be in a position to consider all three?

BTW, neither ND or CMU are large, and both have smaller business schools.

Hi OnTheBubble,

Thanks for the insight! As for the size, I meant that Babson only has approx. 2000 undergraduate students while ND has 8000 and CMU has 6000. I come from a pretty small private school so ND and CMU does sound big and is one of the reasons why I’m not considering public schools.

I understand but ND and CMU have dozens of fields of study. I can’t see going to what is essentially a vocational school when you have two choices 98% of kids can only dream about. What if you hate business studies? What then? Transfer?

After graduation you might look back and have quite a bit of remorse.

Ahaha I guess that is an issue that I might face if I attend Babson.

Would you say that ND and CMU have more internship chances as well? One of the reasons I was leaning towards Babson was because it’s located nearby Boston, which has a lot of firms to work for as a business student.

Again thank you for all these comments!

You plan on working during school? The internship you should shoot for is the formal summer internship as a rising senior, which is GPA dependent. You should obviously focus on meaningful summer work before then too.

Boston is an hour away. You think you will have time between classes to get there, work and then come back? Is Babson the only school in Boston? Clearly there are tens of thousands of students in the area.

How about GPA…? I’m thinking of getting an MBA degree later on in life and I know that my undergrad GPA is going to matter a lot then. Of course I’m going to work hard throughout the 4 years, but would you say that one of the colleges is a lot lenient regarding grades than the others?

You won’t be competitive at top MBA program coming from Babson. Keep in mind a very substantial portion of MBA’s never studied any business as an undergrad.

You have an opportunity to attend two of the most elite schools in the country vs a regional business school.

I’ll go back to what I said before how many students have a choice of these three? You didnt mention cost so I assume it’s not an issue.
