Back to back classes or large breaks in between?

Which is better?

Having a schedule with back to back classes or with large breaks in between?

it depends on the person… i like them back to back so i don’t need to campus as often… it also allows me to schedule other activities like volunteering, research, etc.

I’ve done both my first year. back to back is nice i finished before noon almost every day and had the whole afternoon to sleep.
large breaks can be a pain if you don’t plan on staying on campus or you live far from campus. I lived in unit 3 last year… so i just came back and slept after my breaks =p

Hmm, I live in Unit 2 so it would probably be a pain for me to walk all the way back to my dorm if my breaks are only like an hour long.

What are some ideas on how to kill time? Probably just to eat or study huh?

You can go to library. or maybe just chill on a bench or something.

It also depends on what you are schedule. For example it is probably very killer to schedule back to back discussions/labs rather than lectures.

During my first semester I always went back to my dorm (yaya unit 3), but I felt wasteful so during my second semester I stayed on campus during my hour breaks. I really enjoyed going to on-campus cafes like Pat Browns, FSM and Yali’s* during my breaks and doing some light studying or simple activities…but don’t be like me and buy a snack everytime or your meal points will rapidly shrink.

I’m going for gaps wherever possible so I’ve got time to review notes immediately afterwards (I’m told that this helps with retention), time to go back and get food from my room (sounds excessive, but…well, when consuming in bulk, price is a factor), etc… The trade here is that I have to lift during the early or late hours, but I don’t really care too much about lifting at night (if anything, I’ve found that I have more energy, which is a little bit surprising).

You can always go to moffit or doe and surf the web for an hour.

you always drop in on another class during break time ;)
