Which is better?

Having all of your classes back to back so you're done early in the day? Or spreading them out so you have an hour or 2 break between each of them?

I dont plan to work during the school year so I'm not worried about having time to work. However, I find myself in a dilemma when planning my schedule as to whether it would be more wise for me to get everything done so I have the rest of the day free or to give myself adequate breaks between each class.

Depends on the person. Personally, I like to get done early in the day. If I have a ton of breaks my day feels so much longer.

It definitely depends on the person, and it definitely depends on the classes.

I want to get all of my similar classes done very close to each other. For example if I have Physics lecture 3 days a week, I want my lab to directly follow one of those lectures and my discussions to directly follow the other two days. Then if I have an English class I want at least a 3 hour break, just so I can get ready (or at least relax and change mindsets).

Another thing I like in a schedule is that all classes start at the same time in the morning, so no matter what day of the week I’m waking up at the same time and I can get a better routine. I’m hoping to get all of my classes to start at 10 or 11, giving me time to eat breakfast, go to the gym, and get ready for all of my classes.

Like jbtheeunknown says, it does depend on your personal preference and what kind of schedule your classes allow for. Personally, I like getting them done early in the day rather than later as well as having less gaps.

and never forget that a great schedule on paper can come to naught when your telebears slot comes up and there are only openings in alternate section times.

@rider, thats why I’m going to try to have 3-5 alternate schedules, and keep watching what classes have openings.

Yeah, I’m a little nervous about my scheduling…I have a few options but if I dont get all (but 1) of the classes I need at the time I need them, I wont be able to do my minor, or else I’ll have to overload myself with like 18 units for a couple of semesters. It seems like all of the classes I need only have 1 option for the section (and then several for the discussions) and, since I have 2 classes that I absolutely have to take in the Fall, it messes with everything else :(
