Bad grades, good school. Chance for Exeter?

I got pretty bad grades last year, at least compared to those applying to prep schools. But, I was offered a chance for admission in late May to a decent private school (Moses Brown), so I applied and was accepted. Now, I'm wondering if I could get into Exeter with the following 8th grade grades:
Algebra I: B
Spanish: C
Science: A-
Social Studies: B
SSAT: 79th percentile
And let's just say I'll get good grades this semester at MB and good recommendations.
They are not good compared to the average person applying to Exeter. But, I consider myself fairly good at lacrosse and one of my current teachers is Exeter alumni, so if I get a good recommendation from him, is it possible to be accepted? And my mom has a good friend on the admissions team.
Also, I lived abroad in Japan for a year.

Thanks everyone!

I would say that yes, your chances are less then the other people applying. The C in Spanish and the two B’s are what are worrisome, though the B’s much less then the C. Defiantly pick those up ASAP. Also, do you do community service?

I did 30 hours in 6th grade, but I lost my sheet on it… So, I guess no…
