I just passed my GCE AS/A Level examination with a very bad grades. It was all D's and E's. But i also have an option to retake my exam on coming October/November.The problem rises on my results to come up. The oct/nov result comes up only on the end of december or mid week of January. Since if i retook the exam then my transcript should be updated and it takes further 1 month. So, i would not be able to apply to colleges with my updated transcript on regular decisions.I haven't given SAT and TOEFL aswell. So which would be better?Improving my grades or improving my scores on SAT's and TOEFL and not to retake my a level exam??

please help me! there is very limited time for me to take the decision.

I don’t think good SAT score would compensate for your Ds and Es? And at the same time, I also am forced to think that you want heavy aid to study in US colleges.

If that is the case, you must have a good grade card, though a couple of Bs or a C might be pardoned, along with a high SAT score

It is better to have a couple of Bs and Cs but a 2200+ SAT than all As but 1900 SAT
make sure you score good in SAT… … leave TOEFL aside for a while because you can cram it in a week…

ok but my updated transcript will only come after 2 month, that would be after the deadlines for applying to colleges. Then i might not apply to any colleges or what??

The deadline for most of the colleges is Jan1st or Dec31st for regular decision. But that is the deadline for the application materials to be postmarked, if you haven’t got your final grades, ask your GC to file mid-year grades.

Though, Suspect your mid-year grade may be same as your older transcript with Ds and Es… which would be a liability in your application…

hey!! i was also planning to give my exams again…but i had planned of sending all the materials expect my grades…will that be fine?..
