Hi, what happens if I send in a bad SAT grade (1890) and a good ACT grade (32) to top US colleges like MIT? Will I have a lower chance of entering college if I do that?

supposeldy they take ur best score.
just send the ACT…

I have the same exact scores as you (unless my score from the June act is higher). I am planning on only sending the act score.

If I were you,
I would only send the ACT score.

Ivy League schools prefer SAT scores.

MIT isn’t an Ivy League school.

IntangibleGator, would you care to back up that presumptuous/blatantly inaccurate statement with concrete facts from an Ivy League School?

An 1890 is not “bad” by any stretch of the imagination. But if it makes you feel more comfortable, just send the ACT score – it is true that comparatively your ACT score is much more competitive, and contrary to popular belief most schools have absolutely no preference.

Just send in your ACT score. I’m in a similar situation (1840/31) and I’m only sending in the better of the two, which is the ACT. Good luck.

Are you all nerds on this website?

what about a 34 ACT and a 2240 SAT? (hypothetically)
which?

the 34 is higher; about equal to a 2300. However, I would send both to show that you can get high scores on both tests.

no a 34 is roughly a 2280.

2280 and 2300 have no significant difference–its 20 points for god sakes! But send in the ACT scores…DO WHAT I TEEL YOUUUU

no, a 34 is roughly 2250. look here [Estimated Relationship between ACT Composite Score and SAT CR+M+W Score](http://www.act.org/aap/concordance/estimate.html)

so send both

definitely send in both no doubt. those are bothh pretty high scores than the avg.

I would stick with the ACT score only. According to the conversion chart a 32 ACT is about 230 points higher than your actual SAT.
