<p>Okay, so im a junior btw. i took my first SAT and scored a 2100, after about 3 months of mediocre effort (i was okay with this as it was my first one), then i hit the books pretty intensely for a month and scored a 2130. I really dont know what to do. My CR score always brings me down, im good with math and writing as long as i dont make any stupid mistakes. ://// Its the sentence completion. Can someone suggest a complete list for me? or maybe a roots/prefixes list? </p>
<p>thanks
btw here are my stats if youre interested
1st time : 660 Cr, 730 M, 710 W
2nd time: 670 Cr ,690 M (stupid mistakes), 770 W</p>
<p>Don’t make stupid mistakes… I know, I know… easier said than done
Dude I didn’t get beyond 1900… I am actually envying you so…
Wish us both 2200 and beyond …LOL
Same here with CR… I guess we have to REAALLY prac…</p>
<p>Here is the advice I usually give. Sorry if you wanted more advice on math, but I can’t help you much there!
Use this [SAT</a> Writing Questions - SAT Writing Questions.pdf - Minus](<a href=“http://minus.com/l4IZR1cu9DYOJ]SAT”>http://minus.com/l4IZR1cu9DYOJ)
It’s a list of a bunch of official College Board SAT questions of the day. All the answers are in the pdf. Don’t be scared by the Chinese, all you need for studying is in English
If you need to improve on vocab questions (you may or may not, since your score is already pretty high), you may want to pick up Direct hits volumes 1 and 2. The books have a total of around 400 ESSENTIAL words.
For reading comprehension, instead of reading long novels like Great Expectations, pick up a copy of the Wall Street Journal or New York Times and read an article before going to bed. Doesn’t have to be boring, just pick an article that you are interested in. While reading, constantly question the author: Why did he put this useless information in this paragraph? It must not be useless, why did he mean by this sentence!? Basically talk to yourself. That’s what I did.
What I usually did for studying was focus on a certain subject area (CR, M, Wmc, or essay) for one day or two. I would only concentrate on THAT area of the test for the time period. You’ve got a ton of time, so for now, just take a practice test a month (you don’t want to run out of practice tests, so it is imperative to space them out). When you get closer to the test, go for once a week, and then twice a week.</p>
<p>Dont worry I got a 1970 and I was VERY disappointed. I am looking at more vocab (by reading novels with big words) and also looking at root lists. As far as essays, ask your friends that have received good essay scores to look at their essays.</p>
