Bama Bound 2014 registration is open

Just a heads up, registration is now open in MyBama.

:)

I notice the last Bama Bound session is August 15. This is my first child going to UA.(my older daughter will graduate from PITT in late April) Would it be safe to assume the Freshman move in day would be Saturday the 16th? My son is 75% sure he is going to BAMA and we want to make hotel reservations(13 hour drive for us from DE). Thanks!

Yes, it would be. That would also be the beginning of WoW Week.

Thanks! It took one visit(in 18 degree weather the end of January) for him to love the place! I think there were definitely some sterotypes about UA that my son had that were quickly broken on our visit. Our only qualm is the distance from home(13 hours driving) but I guess that is what they make airlines for!

Glad to hear that the visit was such a success…in such cold weather!

If a student knows what they will be majoring in, has already visited the dept a few times, has college experience from dual enrollment on a university campus, is there any significant advantage to the 2day orientation vs the one day?

The 2-day orientation (more like 1.5 days) includes an overnight stay in a dorm with other incoming students. I’d recommend the 2-day orientation over the 1-day orientation because it gives students time to “hang out” with their peers and get used to campus life. Sample schedules for each type of Bama Bound can be found at http://orientation.ua.edu/dates/.
