Bama sorority recruitment video?

I agree. That is exactly how I felt about the people on this thread who called these sorority women names.

So, they were not meant to attract you. I am a guy, with two college DSs, and we all think the girls in the video are hot.

OK, I have moved on from the young girls, but have to no problem if the girls in the video have the wherewithall to turn into this in 40 years:

Now, this is what I am talking about!! You go Sharon!!

These girls are just practicing to be the next hot middle-aged female. And why should they not, if they want to?? They are not hurting anyone; just as Stone is not hurting anyone with her near 60 nude pics.

Consolation,

I would be interested to hear your analysis of why, when discussing the video, some people could not simply critique it with respectful comments, like “it would have been more effective if they had included information about particular activities these women engage in.” Instead, they had to go further and label them “vapid,” “brainless,” “bimbos,” “bubble-headed ninnies,” and the ultimate worst: “My daughter would rather blow her brains out with an Uzi than join this sorority.”

I agree and if my daughter had made a statement like the above, I would not be proudly repeating it.

A good sorority story

The accusation “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful” comes from the “beautiful” woman who presumes other women are jealous of her because of her gorgeous Pantene hair. My friends and I used to goof on the ad when we were in HS because it seemed so absurd. I am not jealous of the AP women or their beauty. I didn’t like that they showed nothing of themselves other than their beauty. The Uzi comment came from my daughter. I’m neither proud of nor disappointed in her statement.

I didn’t accuse the AP women of being brainless. I said this video presented them as brainless, which is why I objected to it. I think these women can do better.

ROLL TIDE!!!

FYI, Alison Parker, the reporter who was shot on air, was an Alpha Phi. RIP.

.Alison was a guest blogger for the national Alpha Phi blog in 2011 when she was a student at JMU. She was very active in her sorority and their facebook, twitter and website presence. It is heartbreaking. She sounded like a wonderful person, as did Adam Ward, a Virginia Tech grad.
