Just curious, as for those who got the call for the interview, did they call your cell, home, or email?

Has anyone from the Houston area heard back yet about interviews or anything?

has anyone from the Dallas area heard about interviews?

First off, it’s not for juniors only. Can’t remember if you can apply when you’re a HS sophomore, but you certainly can when you’re a HS junior or senior.

You will be placed as an intern with a local non-profit. B of A is interested in encouraging young people to consider working within the non-profit sector after college. Where you’ll be placed, and what you’ll do, will vary depending on what non-profit you are placed with.

Chances of being accepted vary depending on your market. In large urban areas, acceptance odds are single-digit.

Interesting that they’re moving the D.C. trip to the end of the summer, as the rising college freshmen might not be able to make it.

Their explanation for the D.C trip being at the end of the internship process was that participants would have the experience of working with their respective nonprofits and developing leadership before meeting other leaders.

So I’m from the LA market. I have not heard back from BoA. Does this mean I should move on? xD

If you look in past threads, you can see what dates people from different markets started hearing back. Just find the old thread then search the thread for your market and see what dates you get.

I cannot find anything about anyone finding out about interviews or acceptances in the Houston, TX area… in any thread on here. If anyone knows, please let me know or simply post about it on here!

Do they inform you at all if you didn’t make it for an interview? Or is it that they only notify those who did?

only certain people in specific markets get interviews. i dont think its based too much on whether the market is too competitive either. i think its just if they have enough time to do interviews. not everyone gets an interview if you’re accepted so dont worry too much if you didnt get an interview yet.

and when exactly is the dc trip? what if school starts for us?

July 15-20, 2012 is the date for DC trip. It is stated in the website, the first page of everything.
It is set on mid-July to make sure nobody’s school is in session during the summit week. So unless you go to a unique school, you probably won’t have any trouble with it.

By the ways, did anyone hear back from Bank of America, especially Seattle region?
According to a friend who got in last year, he got a call either on late march or early april -he doesn’t remember the specific date…
But then the application last year was due in early january instead of 25th so…

Could you guys keep me posted?

did anyone hear anything yet!?! when are the final decisions coming out again?

Oh my gosh I really want to know if I have an interview/if I made it or not >.> Partly because I want to dye my hair blue…but mostly because I want to go x)

@hotcheetos
As to when the final decisions come out, nobody knows… It will be certainly before May, and likely before mid-April. But it all depends on the market.
What I’ve heard from the ex-student leader guy is that he got a call somewhere around this time of last year -late March~early April-, but again, last year’s application was due on early January (6th?), not 25th… We might have to wait longer…

So as for anyone wondering about the Houston market, my friend called BOA today, and they said that Houston kids won’t be getting an interview and that we should expect decisions anywhere from early May to late May.

@bartonsprings, you’re the only person from Austin I’ve seen so far. I don’t think our market’s competitive, because I counselor told me only around 30-40 people have applied in the years past. Have you heard anything about interviews?

Thanks a million! I have not been able to find any info on the Houston area applicants and dates… Thanks!

@ChallengAccepted, whoa that sound so awesome… Our market, so far as I’m concerned, will have well over 100 ppls, or at least that was the number from past years… Seattle market is competitive… They should accept more ppl in competitive areas so as to balance this up
