So, i'm going to be at cornell next year, and i'm trying to decide which bank to open an account with; which bank do you guys use? I'm thinking about opening a checking account at some bank with atm's nearby Cornell and linking it to an online savings account with high interest (like ing) where most of my money will be kept. Any suggestions?

Edit: o wow, i didn't realize there was another thread on banking here started within the last 2 days...i wouldn't have started this one then...

HSBC will be all you need.

The best bet is M&T Bank (http://mandtbank.com/)

M&T has a full service bank on campus in Willard Straight Hall also an ATM, if the bank happens to be closed. There is also an M&T bank ATM in the Robert Purcell Community Center on North campus, which is where all the freshman live.

If you decide to move off campus later on, there is also a full service bank in Collegetown, where a lot of students live. No other bank has that kind of coverage at Cornell.

HSBC IS fine too...they have two branches really close by and an atm in WSH
