@Tookme10mins “All deadlines are 11:59 p.m. your local time on the listed deadline day-”
It didn’t say before the deadline day. its ON the deadline day.
@hechopecho okay thanks. So I have more time to work on my applications beyond today?
Yup!!! @Tookme10mins
@hechopecho awesometasticsauce! lol
I submitted!!! with 30 minutes left to spare pheww
Hi!! I just applied to Barnard and it’s my number one and I’m freaking out so much AHHHH!!! I have a glowing interview from an alumna, good teacher recs, and some really good essays, but I’m worried it’s not enough, you know? I mean, I’m not gonna write out all my activities and junk, but it’s a LOT. I just have heard of really deserving girls getting waitlisted and I can’t imagine what I’d do!! So, yeah. I’m a little stressed clearly. Anyone else feeling the same?
good luck to all you RD people!!!
@emilygraymo I feel exactly the same way! Barnard is my #1 too
I’m definitely on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to tests and number of extracurriculars (i’m do like two things but im heavily involved so maybe it makes up for it?) but when i visited the campus i loved it too much not to not to apply
I’m really upset because I accidentally pasted the draft version of my personal essay when i submitted and it has some really bad grammar mistakes. It’s not too bad though so I’m gunna try and stay hopeful.
@hechopecho heavy involvement is always good. It shows your dedication to the things you do!! And standardized test scores are all hit or miss for most people, I’m sure you’re not alone. I’ve heard that the essays are more about the message from the grammar, but if you have one okayish one and several other great ones then you should be all right!
Isn’t the campus the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? I visited just because of the Columbia/Barnard connection but I forgot all about it when I walked on campus. I couldn’t care less about Columbia anymore!! I saw Barnard Hall and some students sitting on the steps and was just like “This is the one. I’m going to be one of them.”
RD applicant from NJ! Did anyone get contacted for an interview yet, or does Barnard not do them?
@shadyconcepts Barnard does do interviews but you have to request them. I just checked on the website, and it says that the deadline to request either an on-campus or an off-campus interview has passed. Sorry
@ellesea That’s fine! I just wanted to know Thanks!
@shadyconcepts random, but your profile picture is really pretty.
@charmandquark Thank you!! I really love the artist. She’s a Japanese artist who does a lot of cool stuff, you should check out her Tumblr! (The url is poolish99).
@shadyconcepts I will! <3
As for all of you other Barnard hopefuls, how are you guys? How is senior year?
And more importantly, what’s your favorite food?
Hello everyone! I’m a RD applicant from NC. I used college confidential when applying to my high school (a boarding school here in nc) and I actually met one of my best friends on here! (tbh I’m hoping for a repeat) I had my skype interview on Thursday and I think it went well but I’m not the best person at gauging these things. I had a lot of things in common with my interviewer so hopefully that will give me a leg up! I also applied to UNC Chapel Hill and Hofstra University and have gotten into Case Western Reserve University, Meredith College, Wingate University, Mary Baldwin College. Barnard is literally everything I want in a college!!!
Hopeful I’ll get to meet some of you guys this fall! Good luck to everyone!
@charmandquark My favorite food is definitely pineapple pizza!
@charmandquark I’m excited because we’re now in our second semester of senior year and I have only 138 days until graduation (I’m also tired because I’m taking 5 AP classes). My favorite food would have to be french fries of all kind: shoestring, regular, steak, crinkle cut, waffle, sweet potato…I love all of them. What about you?
@willsister1 I’ve heard of a couple of those colleges, but not all of them. Are most of the schools based in North Carolina? I’ve never been to North Carolina–my gov teacher is from there I believe. What is like there?
I’m glad your skype interview went well, I didn’t like how my phone interview went, It was kinda awkward and rushed.
I hope we both get into Barnard so then we can meet up, that’d be amazing. <3
@ellesea
Saaammmee. Like, we’re almost there. We almost made it. xD
& Omg 5 wow, kudos to you. Which classes are you taking?
French fries are delicious, and I definitely crave them alot. I should probably make them my official favorite food. But I really like quiche…and pizza…catfish…most anything with sugar…most types of pasta.
Oh! I love carne asada fries. I assume it’s just a west coast/Cali thing–have any of ya’ll tried carne asada fries? You might especially like them, ellesea.
@charmandquark Only UNC Chapel Hill, Wingate, and Meredith are in NC. The rest are scattered throughout the north east. I’m sure you did a lot better than you thought on your interview though! I kinda like North Carolina. Its nice because I can drive 3 hours one way and be in the mountains and 3 hours the other an be at the beach. Our weather is never very consistent though (it was 70 degrees on Christmas but it was snowing the next week!)
@ellesea We have trimesters so we’re almost done with our second trimester. I get a new set of classes in a few weeks but senioritis has already hit! I’ve only taken a few traditional APs, but my school is super rigorous and I took a lot of 6.0 classes so hopefully Barnard understands that!
