Barrons SAT II US History

i have been doing pretty bad on the practice tests. i have been getting like 50% wrong. any hopes of getting an 800?

This book is insane. My highest score was a 650 but in Princeton I barely tried and got a 720. I think Barrons is super inaccurate for this kind of thing. Many of the questions are wayyy too specific. Im real worried too. -34 isn’t what I’d expect for myself :(

i remember when i took it i got like a 400 on barrons, then took the real thing and got a 790

^ur joking!!

no im not. i also took practice tests in other books and got 750+ on every one of them. i took one from barrons and believe my score was 450

Barron’s is pretty much always harder than actual tests. Don’t stress yourselves out :/

yea thats funny. the barrons questions were like WHAT did this even happen in history. but if you got like 450 on barrons and 790 on real thing then i feel better. thanks

Hey here’s an update guys.

I bought sparknotes and just got a 700. The questions are actually doable LOL. Forget Barrons. Its probably a big waste of time at this point.

Same problem, I did the Barron’s Diagnostic and got ~57% correct… which is a 590! O_O

I am still studying with it though… I will also look at my princeton review book. I’m taking World and US tomorrow… good lord. :(

omg. i just got 50 wrong out of 95 on barrons. and test tomorrow!!! any advice? is getting above a 750 still possible?

are the online sparknotes tests accurate?

i just got a 600 on sparknotes. any hope?

“i just got a 600 on sparknotes. any hope?”

I read a while back that someone said sparknotes was a little bit harder… a little bit nit-pickier.

i have been getting like 520s on barrons and i got a 600 on sparknotes. eh  i need a 750+

Yea, I got a 590 (!) on Barrons, but I got 750 and 760 on Sparknotes. Hopefully that will translate into around an 800 on the test.

If you are still worried, you could switch the test to some other subject you know, like World History, if that’s your thing.

All I know is Barron’s is really really hard. I’m praying tomorrow is much easier than Barron’s.

sparknotes gives you a smaller curve, and alot of time they make errors grading. For instance, you’ll get the question wrong, but they’ll be like “B is not the right answer, B is the correct answer.” … like what? o.O

but i got a 600 on sparknotes which aint good. and i need 750+. blah

Here’s another update: I took a prac test yesterday from
Sparknotes and one today.

720, 750. Barrons is definitely useless. DO NOT USE IT TONIGHT. Study concepts and take an official or sparknotes test. Princeton review can work as well but do not take a test from
Barrons. It wont help.

Expect at least 40 points higher on the real thing tomorrow. So hopefully I’ll walk away with a. 790 :)

Its at least 40 points for sparknotes ushistory. Ive seen 40-100 points so dont get depressed sostressed
