Barron's Too Hard?

This thread concerns the CR in Barron's "How To Prepare For The SAT" (23rd ed.)

It is common knowledge that Barron's maths is far harder than the real SAT maths. But what about CR? I find the CR presented on this book's several practice tests slightly odd, for answers to lots of questions appear to be implausible and very far-fetched.

Am I the only one? To what degree does the CR on these practice tests resemble the actual SAT?

Thanks for your replies.

I THINK that Barron's is pretty much more difficult for everything except French SAT II. I really have nothing to base this on except that I once used Barron's for Math IIC and I got Barron's 2400 but refuse to look too closely at the practice questions since I keep getting them wrong.

In Barron's 2400 I do think that the CR questions are kind of strange. I'd take them with a grain of salt just because they're not the official CB practice questions.

I would look at Barron's explanations, but their tests are way too hard. This could help you, but it caused me to perform worse.

yeah it does seem harder.

i have the CR workbook by barron's and i got 700 on the first practice test. i was hoping for higher, maybe it's because of the difficulty?

Barron's SAT book is diffilcult than the other SAT books. I also found that the writing part is also harder than the other ones..

For example, I got above 700s on writing but 600s on Barron's book..

ok, i see a bit light at the end of the tunnel. thanks to all of you.

barrons is harder always

I got their math workbook thing, and some of the problems in there are absurdly difficult for the SATs...kinda demoralizing.
