Bathroom Breaks . .

Odd I know, but I was just wondering how often cadre “allow” us to use the restrooms during basic. If nature calls, can we just say ‘excuse me sir, I gotta go’ or what? Everyone keeps saying to hydrate like crazy, but after awhile, water just runs straight thru!

hahaha...I've been wondering the same thing!

Cadets are allowed to use the bathroom at 3 designated times each day. If they decided to not use the 3 designated times then they are out of luck.

Just kidding... that would really suck right? Anyways that is a good question. This is kind of random but I read on a parent group that they suggest trying to have your bowel movements at night because there isn't a lot of time for that during the day or morning. However I don't know the general rule for when you can use the restroom.

good to know! lol I just remember during doolie for a day at summer sem having to pee really bad in the morning, but not getting to before an hour and a half of PT! Then there was a line for the men's room! TMI maybe.

Potty talk please no potty talk

Due to the amount of physical activity and the dry nature of the Colorado air, you'll be drinking a TON of water during Basic. Consequently, you'll likely spend half of BCT in the bathroom. Honestly though, if you've got to go, just ask. Fifteen of your classmates will probably have to use the bathroom too anyway. On a final note, during BCT when everything is very formal and stract, the restroom is always referred to as the latrine.

you will enjoy the poems written on the jacks valley stalls...I can still remember a few over two years later

Its a relief to know we will get to relieve ourselves when necessary! I didnt realize there was a formal name for the John. Thnx Petko

Ha, Groog! I'd forgotten about those until you mentioned them. There are always some great poets in BCT... ;)

you can **** in your sink all you want during first bct

I remember one of my cadre told us that when he was in Basic, they told him they called it BCT for "Bladder Control Training".

I just remember summer seminar when they told us to drink our waterbottles 9 times during the day...well I did that and had to pee every hour, on the hour. It sucked when we had to wait another 20 minutes until the next bathroom break!

yeah me too viper...only i think it was more frequent. our leader was incredulous :D
heehee!

Yes, missmuff, I remember our leader saying something along the lines of "YOU must think you're more important than everyone else...you're going to make them wait for YOU..." when someone asked to use the restroom.
Do they really usually make a big deal out of it like that?

not with me, they didn't

Does it end by August?

It starts the last Thursday of June and ends on the first Saturday of August, I believe.

What happens during BCT on July 4th? Is there still training that day?

There should be. I know that at night, the basics get to see fireworks and hailed on with candy and stuff they're not supposed to have. I think someone threw fries down last year.

The 4th is a lot of fun. You'll have all your normal training during the day, but you'll have a good time that evening. I don't want to add anything else to what pss said and spoil all the surprises - those are half the fun!
