I'm leaning toward UNC currently, but just had a weird question to ask. What is the bathroom situation in the dorms at UNC? Which dorms have more suites where 4-6 people share a bathroom that freshman can get? Which dorms should be avoided if one doesn't want a communal/floor bathroom?

Hey honey I understand your dilemma. It is a tough choice , right?
have you heard of Target or Wall Mart? You can buy a private bathroom or a personal toilet from one of these two stores and bring it to UNC.

Thanks for ■■■■■■■■. Anyone have significant input?

I actually prefer hall style bathrooms to suite style. If one toilet’s messed up, hey, there are four more! And this was totally bizarre, in the three semesters I lived in Kenan I think someone was showering at the same time as me probably less than twenty times.

South campus has suite style, North and middle have hall style.

If you want suite-style, south campus is indeed for you.

(But I share cloying’s sentiments— hall style bathrooms can actually be much more sanitary.)

Nahhh I HATE hall-style (I live on North Campus this year, but last year I was in Ehringhaus). It’s such a pain to drag all your stuff all the way down the hallway for a shower (or just to wash your hands/brush your teeth), and the bathroom is way less clean than my suite bathroom last year. Also the shower floods the entire floor and the water pressure is bad and the shower head is completely stationary.

This is me just whining, though. I can certainly live without a moveable shower head (although next year I’ll have my own bathroom in my pretty apartment yay!).

I prefer hall-style bathrooms. But the above posters summed it up. Hall style up north and in middle campus. Carmichael is an exception to this. It is also suite-style. Suite-style bathrooms are all on South campus, although the directional dorms have bathrooms for four people instead of eight. You have to clean your own bathrooms in those though…

Ok, easy enough, thanks a lot.

Middle Campus dorms have big rooms, suite-style bathrooms and the community is pretty tight. I love my dorm and I’m staying here again next year. Think about Avery, Parker or Teague.

Wait, I thought middle campus was hall-style?
