PootieTang,

I’m from San Ramon, too. ahaha

From Orinda, waiting to hear back from UCI essentially… TAG approved but still nervous you know!

I hate bay area transfers because they, typically, have a lot more CS classes to choose from. They also have higher acceptance rates than my locale.

Sorta makes sense about the CS classes… We are all pretty close to Silicon Valley. Higher acceptance rates though? Never knew that! Awesome!

mikei you at dvc?

DVC students hear about that shooting last night? What was up with that… Makes me wonder if I should go to school tomorrow lol

Daly city here.

@ emilsinclair9:

I’m an econ major. I know its basically a tradition around here, but I’m not really a fan of posting up stats since that’s not the only factor in the admissions process.

Foothill College
Berkeley - Peace & Conflicts
UCLA - Political Science

Gosh, so many future FED chairmen and treasury secretaries on this board.

@ steeze: Ahh ok no big man. Well I wish ya luck anyways! It’ll be soooo sweet to get out of CSM. I’m more than ready. This has been a long time coming, and to think that I’ll know where I’ll be going to college in 6 weeks or so is really gratifying.

All the best.

Prereqs done but nervous about my Speech 120 class, if I don’t pass I won’t have the 60 units!
ECs and community service: moderate

Whaooo, there was a shooting at DVC???

@PootieTang, no, I’m not going to DVC. I went to Cal High, though. I went from Cal -> Loyola Marymount University (in LA; didn’t like it) -> Santa Monica College (living in an apartment now to be close to LMU friends)

The shooting didn’t involve any DVC students. It was two rugby teams from San Francisco or something renting the field so they could play rugby.

Ah, just a couple of people making DVC look bad.

@ thatketchup: NOO! lol please don’t tell me that you’re taking Speech 120 with Lisa Perry…She is horrible. She’s literally one of the most boring teachers I’ve ever had.

Since we’re on the topic, I have to write and memorize a speech on Affirmative Action by tomorrow…fun lol. I’m in support.

I also really like Davis. What aspects of it do you like? I think the people are really friendly, and the vibe I feel there is very welcoming.

davis sucks, prolly my last choice (i’ve visited many times, the only appeal for me is the relatively low cost of living)

got into sb, but my top 2 are ucsd and ucb

@emil: No it’s not Perry. However, due to my previous professor’s sudden illness (Professor Paoli she was a very sweet lady) they had to send in a new professor to substitute the class, Professor Motoyama. She’s only been here for 2 classes so far (it’s a night class so it only meets once a week) and she’s already given us a speech and a midterm scheduled for the day we get back from spring break. She’s crazy… I really hope I pass =[ Btw how was your affirmative action speech and what course was it for? As for UC Davis, yes the people seem friendly and down to earth. I especially like the small town vibe, it’s very laid back and chill which is similar to my personality. Additionally, the standard of living is relatively lower than the other schools I applied to and public transportation and biking is possible there as well which is great because I don’t drive!

Do you take the bus with me?? I take 3 night classes! I ride the 250. I have night classes T,W,Th. Chem, speech, and then chem again. We should grab coffee b4 class at the Drip sometime! I’m always at school in Bldg 14 in the comp. lab b4 class…I bet u can’t guess what site I’m always on lol.

I’m in Speech 100. I believe Motoyama was an option, but I ended up taking it with Prof. Li instead. She’s so kind and very encouraging.

I’m sure you’ll be fine in your speech class. You have a 4.0! lol. I mean I thought my 3.7 was solid :p. I’m sure you’ll pass. I have a feeling neither of us are too keen on public speaking though. How come you’re taking it? IGETC requirement?

My Affirmative Action speech is for Speech 100 (we meet Wednesday nights), but I actually ended up not going for the first time this semester. It was an optional class where we were gonna go to the lab and videotape ourselves. I figured that I’ll just do it on Monday after spring break. I need some down time already lol.

I’m with you on the small town vibe at Davis. I do like that a lot, but then again, I loved Berkeley’s bustling streets and unforgettable energy. haha I also don’t drive, so biking/public transit are huge for me.

Anyway, let me know if you want to meet up before class sometime…hell just walk into the computer lab b4 your night class and you’ll probably see me…short white kid with long hair and Bose headphones always on…all you’ll need to know lol. ttyl.
