Anybody else apply to Political Economy at Berkeley? I only remember seeing one other person who applied to it on these threads.

No. Anyone applied to Social Welfare… I haven’t seen anyone for my major either. It’s actually a bit comforting that all of these intense an obsessive members did not apply to my major. :). I had a nightmare last night about being rejected from CAL. :/

It is kind of nice, but at the same time I want to know what I’m up against.

Yeah, I’m a Development Studies major and haven’t met anyone applying to it either.

At least with the literature that Cal put out it listed my majors transfer admittance rate as like 46%, yet on the website it is deemed impacted…

haha should have named this the who else has an obscure major at berkeley thread.

I’ll probably be double majoring with social welfare…if that matters for anything lol. I didn’t apply social welfare though.

ooh ooh- I have an obscure major!

Peace and Conflict Studies- and I have yet to meet another… hallooooo? anyone out there?

Can’t believe we still have another month to go. I’m starting to work on my homework and essays that I know will be due in that timeframe because with UCLA and Cal, I will have so much nervous energy that I won’t be able to study.

Im Environmental Economics and Policy, I think ive seen 2 or 3 other people on here with that major.

I applied as Peace and Conflict Studies major, but upon realization how useless this major is, I decided to switch to Political Economy if I’m accepted. My GPA is 3.89, all the prereq are done for both majors, IGETC certified. By the way, Cal admits by department so all who applied for obscure majors pretty much compete against each other.

Woo ksFor Berkeley, we might end up together. You’re GPA is much higher than the average though, I’m almost 100% sure you’ll get in. Acceptance for multi/interdisciplinary studies is like 80% for 3.8-4.0s. Its 55% for my GPA range (3.6-3.79). I have a 3.74 so I’m at least closer to the 3.8 range than the 3.6s.

@ks- PAC is useless if you’re not in the “peace and conflict” field… Being in the military, it’s pretty useful… But UCLA is my first choice anyway.

My sister is most likely doing UC-UC visitor program so that she can minor in PACS. Her major is international relations or something like that.
