Baylor and Southern Methodist University

Im waiting on both :). If you got accepted or waiting like me post here! (Stats etc. not just grades ec's too !!) Also is it true SMU cost 60 k a year its like my dream school but apparently pricey

I just applied to Baylor over Thanksgiving break since it was free. I will apply to SMU soon, I already have everything ready on the app, 2 essays, all I need to do is click Submit and send in my transcripts and rec letters (for both schools). I’m waiting to see how I do on the Dec. 4th SAT. I would apply already but my GPA is horrid.

SAT Scores:
Reading: 680
Writing: 710
Math: 710
(2100)

GPA: 3.14/4 Unweighted - 89%/100 Weighted
Rank: 180/500

I’ve taken a couple AP classes, graduating on the Texas Distinguished Plan (not that it really means anything, now that I’ve figured out… 3 years later -_-), other than AP most of my classes have been Honors or dual credit (such as college algebra).

ECs:

4 years in the HS soccer program
JV Captain Freshman Year, Sophmore- Varsity

Student Council
Key Club (Volunteer Club)
Student Exec Club
Leadership and Politics Club
Japanese Club
Environmental Club

Mostly just held a “member” status in these clubs, I was too busy with soccer to bother running for any meaningful positions.

For SMU, they sent me the distinguished candidate application which I’ve already filled out. Hopefully I can spend the time waiting for the Dec.4 SAT scores to come out, editing both of my essays and getting a few more recommendatory letters. I’m aiming from a 2200+ on my next SAT, and I’ve dedicated actual time to prepare for it on my own this time around. I did attend a class but it was a huge waste of time. Basically, I was big slacker in terms of school work (reflected by my GPA), which ultimately will probably prevent me from applying to anywhere too prestigious. I already applied to UT, I will probably get declined because of my class rank or CAPped :/
