BBA to Pre-med

I am about three terms away from finishing my bachelors in Business Administration. It has taken me a while to figure out what I really want to do, but I now have a strong interest in medicine. I have a 4.0 for my business course work, but I don't have any science prerequisites--maybe one bio class freshman year. My question is: what would it take for me to get into med school? If I finish my Bachelors in business, can I go somewhere else--my school doesn't have the best science classes--and only take the required prereq's, test, and then apply, or do I need to complete a second degree in bio or premed? Do you think my additional degree in Business Administration will be looked favorably upon by med school admissions, or will my last minute diversion be frowned upon? If I completely commit to the med school path, is there any reason for me to finish my last little bit of my business degree, or should I switch my course work as soon as possible? Also, the school that I am going to now (Marylhurst University, OR) isn't very competitive, will that be a problem?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts,

Thanks Brown–that is helpful.

well if you get your degree that does look good. you can always do your bachelors + pre-med requirements.your pre-med requirements will be weighed more than the bio or chem majors since they have more science classes to make their chem or bio reqs to make them look good. im not sure but ive heard that after you get your 1st degree, classes after that cost more than if you were an undergrad.

I would not worry too much on finishing BA, declare some other major that will allow to take Med. School pre-reqs and some upper Bio that will help you with MCAT (genetics, physiology, cell-bio). Med. Scshool does not care a bit about your major(s)/minor(s), it requires you to complete pre-reqs, have great college GPA and decent MCAT, you will need certain Medically related EC’s and preferrably other EC’s.
I am myself is 3 credit hrs away from completing engineering degree. I never cared to finish, since after working for about 11 years in engineering and hating it with all my heart, I switched to something else, got BS and MBA and very happy with my decision. There is no reason to continue with something that you are not planning to pursue. However, cost was not consideration for me since my various employers paid for my education. So, if cost is prohibitive, here is another path, find employer who will pay.
