What do you guys think is better overall (not money wise), rutgers new brunswick arts and sciences or bc? I was accepted into both and want to know what you guys think about each school.

Or, if you know nothing about rutgers, then I would appreciate some reviews of Boston College Arts/science school. Thanks

nb:

did you just get off the WL? If so, Congrats.

(sry, can’t offer an opinion on Rutgers.)

rutgers is horrible, why would you even consider it?(except for financial reasons)

Dear nbafan135 : The midpoint SAT scores between the two schools differs by more than 200 points. So, if comparing the College of Arts and Sciences at both institutions, the comparison pretty much starts and ends right there.

If you are not comparing on a financial basis, what is left other than academics? Rutgers is an attractive campus in New Jersey with limited city access aside from car transportation. Boston College is an attractive campus in Massachusetts on the outskirts of Boston in Chestnut Hill with excellent transportation options into the city. Rutgers was known on the sports scene for their football team (two seasons back) and their women’s basketball team. Boston College was known largely for their football, ice hockey, and soccer programs in addition to their ACC affiliation.

^ The post above sums up almost everything. If you are comparing Rutgers to BC, it’s like comparing a dog to a cat. Academically BC ranks #34 while Rutgers ranks somewhere near #170. So, I hope that gives you a little bit idea about how to BC Arts and Sciences compare to Rutgers.

^^^^ fail. don’t use pointless rankings based on “student perception” and stupid catorgories like that

EDIT: what scott did was a better way to compare the schools

thanks blue and thanks for the replies guys. i applied to rutgers since I am a NJ resident and I am going for free there it seems. but bc seems to be a 100k+ debt after 4 yrs. Rutgers seems the way to go right now for me. Will see though

Go to rutgers- BC is good, but not 100K good.

For 100k- I don’t know if any college is worth that. So, i have to say go to Rutgers.
