I got rejected from Georgetown this year, I was a legacy it came to a big shock to my family. I also got accepted to BC which is a great school and I will be enrolling there next year. My question is do you think its worth it to try to transfer next year? I've had my heart set on gtown since I was in 7th grade and I still feel strongly about it. I going as a pre-med so would it be better just to hold out at BC and then apply to Georgetown Med? Does anyone know of BC pre-meds reputation with Georgetown Medical School?

Thank You very much

premed there is absolutely NO POINT. I know a kid from my school who turned down Upenn for BC pre-med. You are exactly where you need to be. Good luck!

I think the program is just as reputable… stick with it unless you figure out next year that BC doesn’t work for you.

i know of at least one person that’s a first year at Georgetown Med that went to BC. you’ll be fine.

thank you guys. That’s what I needed to hear. I’m gonna go to BC and make the most of it

Dude, I got into G’Town and picked BC over it. I liked BC’s campus better, plus I had some reasons that applied to me but may not to you (GTown 600 miles from home; BC math dept was more accessible during my campus visits). The schools are very comparable in terms of the student population (they have a large overlap in cross-applies) and you should also know that BC’s pre-med program is superb in that they have a great pre-med advising set-up, and they have a good track-record with gettnig their med-wanna-be’s into med school – 76% of pre-meds at BC get into the medical school of their choice.

And like someone else said above – if you go to BC and you absolutely hate it, then you can trasnfer to GTown in 2010 or 2011…

See you around campus next year.

earl: would you mine sharing some basic stats? thanks=]
