BC vs. NYU

Nearly every single Irish or Italian Roman Catholic family will have heard of Boston College.

hahahah. well, that would explain why i hold BC on a higher pedestal - i'm an italian&irish roman catholic (even though i don't even remotely follow religion)

hsseniorlooking- i'm not expecting to go to a prestigious law school really mostly because of the added debt. my reach would probably be Fordham Law, but I might end up at Seton Hall Law or some school like that and try to get some money..hopefully.

Has anyone heard of the Seton Hall School of Diplomacy? I just heard about it, and I'm wondering if it is any good..Just a side note

There is no doubt that NYU has more name recognition. More people in the world know about NYU.

You have Stern, CAS, Steinhardt, Tisch, etc schools that are distinguished in their field...and then the graduate programs like Stern top 10 in the world, Law School top 5 according to US News, etc. You also have the amazing location, New York City for internships and jobs. The reason why NYU is even near BC is because some of the kids under performing arts majors audition to get in, so grades aren't as important as lets say applying to CAS, Stern, etc. It lowers the school average. It's understandable that some of the arts students have lower gpa/SAT scores because they are so talented in their fields.

BC>NYU, but not by much.

I think it goes:

Stern, Tisch > BC > Other NYU schools

There is little difference between the three.

jh2633 You're kidding me right?

LOL CUNYs cannot compare to NYU. If you have a 3.8 at BC, you'll be way way overqualified at any CUNY, Macaulay Honors or otherwise.

thanks for the help everyone. I'm applying to NYU. I really liked it when I visited..the money is still a concern obviously (and i have to get in first) but it's a top choice
