Hey, will they have a problem if I bring my scriptures along? I don't think they can take them away, but I was just checking.

Religious texts you mean?

They can't take any religous texts away from you.

I'm sorry, yes I meant religious texts. I was pretty sure they couldn't take them away, but I didn't want to bring them along in case they could, I don't want them to get lost. Thanks.

About our bank...anyone know how and when we can transfer money from our banks at home to the Armed Forces bank?

I was wondering the same thing.

If you use Armed Forces Bank. There is online banking. About transfering money. My parents just wrote a check and send it to the bank and ask them to deposit it in your account. So when you have confirmed that you have an account set up (through the internet). You can start mailing checks. That's how I did it.

You can also wire money into your account at AFB. The instructions are detailed on a letter we recieved confirming our cadets account number. ABF's tech support number is 1-888-973-4514.

And of course, you will have direct deposit to the AF bank, which they will set up for you. Only about $100 dollars per month till the loan is paid off in two years however.

considering we can't spend very much, I'd say 100 dollars ain't bad to have coming in.

Do we have to have an armed forces or AF bank? Because i set mine up through USAA (an upper recomended i do that). If I just broiught my bank info, couldn't they just use that?

Oh, and the things I'm bringing that are kind of extraeneous (sorry can't spell) that they will issue but uppers recomended that i bring of my own:
-Cotton Balls (b/c the ones they issue scratch your shoes and I'm
going to try and keep mine)
-Deodarant (you'll want your own kind b/c you know what works for
you)
-Toothbrush (once again, you know what works for you)
-Hair stuff for girls (this won't be issued to us)
-A few stationary/envelopes/stamps

But thats just me...

i'm using USAA as well

Same here about USAA. Theres no problem using it...you're free to.

Absolutely, use any bank you want.

A parent's club packet I read says we should pack multiple pairs of underwear and clothes for several days when reporting. Can anyone back this up?

You don't need it.

Nope. Unless you're female, you dont need underwear. :P
