Well, I have started to pack things I will need and here is what I have:

Bag to carry my stuff
Boots
electric razor
regualor razor
watch
chapstick
paperwork
stationary
cellphone and charger
sleepwear and extra shirt since im flying in one day early ( i hate to wear same shirt in a row, yes. i know i will during basic)
essential toiletries
acne stuff incase ineed it during the year
and some munchies to eat during the plane ride

What is some of the stuff i should add?
small pack of kleenex?

bookbag
boots
electric razor
manual razor + blades
phone + charger
folder w/ required forms
preadressed envelopes
1 pair of extra clothes for host home
deodorant, toothbrush/paste for host home

i'm making a list of things my parents need to send right after basic is over and have it piled up in my room. stuff like boxers, camera, flash drives, mouse, my 2 desk items.. and i'm sure that list'll grow as i remember more stuff

What about our high school diploma and transcript?
My graduation isn't until the 24th, but I've arranged to pick up my stuff from the school on the 23rd. Will I need to bring those with me?

Everybody might want to check with the Academy that they've received your transcripts. The Academy didn't have one of my colleges, so I called the college last Thurs. They hadn't even sent it. I'm so ticked!

Prog is the halfway point of a semester. Grades come out at prog, but for most classes less than 1/3 of the points have been handed in at that point so they are pretty worthless.

My only guess is that the Chicago Lighthouse School for the Blind (AKA Skilcraft) doesn't make razors.

for those of you who may not be aware, skilcraft is the government contracted company that makes all of our offbrand issued stuff. They make pencils, pens, toothbrushes, neckties, clocks, pretty much everything you can think of (except razors evidently)

And the people who work there really are blind, I'm not making that up. They probably wouldn't do any business if they didn't have a government contract seeing as how no one I know would ever buy that crap voluntarily...

Reminds me of the National Endowment for the Arts...

No one would ever buy an "artistic masterpiece" called 'Paint Splattered on Torn Canvas' on their own, so our taxes go to buy it and put this and similar pieces in federal buildings all throughout the nation.
