whats the difference? Can anyone currently living there give me an idea of what they are like? thanks!

There really is no difference. West has 14 floors and East has 13, so unless you have a preference for that one floor, it’s all the same. I live in East and haven’t had any problems. I heard there was a cockroach problem in West last year, but these old dorms are bound to have problems like that sometime or another. However, Beaty is pretty nice. You share a room with one person, and then two people live in the next room. They both connect to a kitchen with a fridge, stove, sink, counter, oven, cabinets and a bathroom. The bathroom is kind of small but I’d much rather have a small bathroom and share it with three people instead of a big bathroom and share it with 40. Beaty is considered to be kind of antisocial because there are only 8 rooms per floor, but obviously if you don’t want it to be, then it’s what you make of it. There’s an RA every two floors which is GREAT if you get on the floor without the RA. They’re typically pretty chill. I’ve had many a party in my room (which these rooms are great for since there’s so much more room than the traditional dorms). The virtual tour online gives a pretty good idea what the rooms look like. You can either bunk your beds or keep them down, whichever you prefer. And you get decently sized closet space.

Did you bunk your beds? and how do you know which floors have the RAs on them?
