I was accepted to fall 09 and when i went there on a tour i saw Beaty towers? what are they like? is the social scene still the same? anything else about it? what about it compared to other dorms?

The definition of "social" is gonna be pretty subjective. I mean, from what I've read, Beaty is the suite-style where you share a room with a 2-3 other guys/gals. You all share a kitchen and bathroom and it's like an apartment. And both towers have a ton of people in them still.

This may not be as "social" as sharing a bathroom with everyone on your floor. But I mean, which would you prefer? I'm personally gonna try to get into Beaty.

Beaty Towers was awesome when I attended. It's social when you are doing laudry, and when waiting to take the Later Gator.

Also it's close to Sorority Row, and a bunch of IM Fields

And it's still pretty close to some of the other big dorms.

I live in Beaty right now and I HIGHLY recommend it.
Naturally (like every other dorm), it depends on your roommates. I ended up becoming really good friends with my two suitemates and my roommate, so our room is really social.
No, I don't know everyone on my floor, but I've made some friends throughout the building, and you'll always end up talking to people on the elevator.
You only have to share a bathroom with three other people, plus you have a kitchenette/common room. (I think I posted a while back with more details about Beaty).
One misconception is that Beaty is significantly further from classes --> false. It's just under five minutes further than Broward (the most conveniently located freshman dorm).

verdict: recommended

how do they decide who gets into beaty? first come first serve? also is their alot of drinking/smoking in the towers?

if its first come first serve i may be in trouble

i got in for srping '10 and i have no idea what housing will be available to me

If I paid the $25 in early September, do I have a pretty good chance of getting a spot in Beaty?
