I think there's already an extensive thread on this issue. Nevertheless, the Games this year was truly AMAZING, most memorable, and carries a lot of importance and symbolism because of China unique status in the world right now. Bravo.

Definitely the best Games I've seen in my life. I was ready to dismiss the Olympics as nothing more than corporate-sponsored nationalism, but Beijing 2008 had something historic about it. Plus, Usain Bolt made winning fun again.

Yes,I agree. These were definantly the best games. I wish they were held more often. :(

The Men's basketball I find it at a disadvantage to other countries since USA is the basketball country and rare outside. Who the heck can beat Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade?

The best part is Men's Swimmming... you know..

Question. What do happens to past existing olympic stadiums?

well, the aftermath of the Athens 2004 games was quite a disaster for that nation. The stadiums that once housed world record champions and spectacular opening and closing ceremonies have now become common destinations for the homeless and graffiti artists. Because of Athens' rather mediocre economic status, it cannot attract enough investment and large, international-scale events to just keep those former olympic venues from shutting down. As a result of a large post-olympic debt, some tourists who have recently visited Greece report that the Greeks are still selling 2004 Olympic souvenirs just to pay of the debt.
